The Degenerate Ryder Cup is not your average golf trip—it’s three days of all-out competition, chaos, camaraderie, and bragging rights, set at the legendary Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan.
This year, we’re going deep:
5 rounds of golf in 3 days at one of the most prestigious golf resorts in the Midwest.
Two teams. One trophy. Endless trash talk.
We’ll battle Ryder Cup–style across multiple competitive formats—team matches, partner games, and pressure-packed points battles—building momentum all the way to the final day, where it comes down to head-to-head 1v1 matchups. No hiding. No teammates to save you. Just you, your opponent, and the moment.
This trip is built for all skill levels. Whether you’re a stick or a weekend grinder, everyone has a role, every match matters, and every point counts. What is mandatory?
Competitive fire
Relentless trash talk
Late nights and legendary stories
The Degenerate Ryder Cup is where friendships are tested, legends are made, and excuses are remembered forever.

Jones Masterpiece — A classic Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design and the original course at Treetops, this championship layout features dramatic elevation changes, natural ravines, wooded terrain, and strategic challenges that reward precision and course management. Known for scenic views over the Pigeon River Valley and a memorable par-3 with a huge drop, it’s widely regarded as one of Michigan’s premier resort courses and a true test of golf.
Fazio Premier — The only Tom Fazio-designed course in Michigan, this championship layout at Treetops blends strategic design with the region’s natural rolling terrain. Fazio’s routing rewards thoughtful shot-making and embraces the land’s elevation changes, offering a mix of risk-reward opportunities, well-contoured greens, and standout holes that feel as though they were meant to be there. It’s challenging yet fair—demanding precision but forgiving enough to keep it fun for all skill levels, m
Smith Signature — A classic Rick Smith–designed championship layout that blends rolling terrain, scenic views, and strategic shot values into one of the standout courses at Treetops. Built with inspiration from Scottish and Irish design principles, Signature is known for its fast bentgrass greens and thoughtful routing, where reads aren’t always obvious and precision on and around the greens is rewarded. It’s widely regarded as one of the most enjoyable and challenging courses in the Gaylord.
Smith Tradition — A Rick Smith–designed championship course that blends classic design with flowing, walkable routing through Michigan’s natural landscape. With thoughtful shot values, well-bunkered fairways, and receptive greens, Tradition rewards strategic play while still being fun and accessible for golfers of varying skill levels — making it a favorite among those who appreciate both challenge and enjoyment in their round.
Threetops— A renowned 9-hole par-3 course designed by Rick Smith, Threetops is widely considered one of the best par-3 courses in North America, celebrated for its dramatic elevation changes, strategic short-iron demands, and pure fun layout. With elevated tees, downhill tee shots, and memorable holes — including ones that have hosted historic moments like million-dollar aces — this compact but exhilarating course challenges golfers of all skill levels.
Chalets at Treetops — Spacious and flexible chalet accommodations right on the resort property, perfect for groups, golf trips, or extended stays. The chalets offer 2–3 bedrooms, full kitchens, comfy living areas, private entrances, and enough room to sleep 8–12 people — making them ideal for your Ryder Cup crew. They combine a rustic Northern Michigan vibe with modern comforts, plus free Wi-Fi and easy access to the resort’s amenities and golf courses.
